About GreenGal

Welcome to the GreenGal’s guide to eco-friendly living! I’m your green gal, Emelie Rota. My passion for all things green arose out of a bay area childhood focused on time spent in nature, not incubating in front of the TV.

My mom handmade many of my clothes, we ate balanced healthy meals, and I spent my time playing imagination games with my little brother. Sure we had our share of problems, but I’m so lucky to have been raised with awareness of my impact on our surroundings.

Now, my husband and I are struggling to recreate this simpler existence AND trying to have a baby… everything “green” is chic, and sometimes expensive and overdone (aka greenwashing). Let’s get back to our roots! Living a simple, sustainable life wasn’t fashionable 150 years ago – it was just the ways things were!

There are so many ways to create a healthy green life, and I’m here to guide you (and me)! Here, you can catch up on the latest eco fashion trends, news, recipes, and savvy/chic lifestyle tips. You can also follow along my journey to become a green mom. From the trials and tribulations of trying to conceive, to all the ways ┬ámoms- and dads-to-be can be eco savvy… Count on me to offer advice and tricks for creating the balanced life you crave, while saving money and the environment.

Sure this green thing is trendy now – but pretty soon it will be so well integrated into our lifestyle and culture (hopefully!) that it will no longer be a fashion statement. Get ahead of the curve!

Live sustainably… with style!
